It is known that the bingo industry is not at its “golden years” and day by day there are more land based bingo clubs being shut down due to regulations.
The former Gala Bingo hall in Nuneaton has been put up for sale for £1.5 million, although the price for removing asbestos from the building, which stands proudly since 1937 in Abbey Street, is not included in this price. The building used to be a Ritz cinema during the Second World War and served its movie fans until 1984, when it became a bingo hall.
The major bingo company has decided to close down this venue to concentrate on its bigger halls in the nearby Coventry. One hall is located in Brade Drive, Walsgrave, and the other in the old Savoy in Radford Road, Coventry. To Nuneaton bingo players, this means that they either have to consider switching to online bingo games or get used to the idea of travelling to the Coventry halls.
Luckily, Gala Bingo already has a well-established online bingo venue, so bingo players can seriously consider going online and playing their games there.
